Fire Damper Testing

Fire Damper Testing

Why Do You Need Your Fire Dampers Testing?

Fire dampers stop the spread of fire inside ductwork. In the event of a rise in temperature, the fire damper closes. These components will hopefully never be needed but in the event that they are you need to ensure that they will function effectively. This is done through a process known as "drop testing". Regular fire damper testing, cleaning and maintenance (at least every 12 months) is both a legal requirement and an integral part of building fire safety. A well maintained fire damper can save lives. All our engineers are trained and accredited to BS9999:2017 standards to give you peace of mind.

Our Fire Damper Services

Fire Damper Survey

If you have schematics available for your site then we can work from these to identify fire dampers and provide a quote for carrying out any testing you may require. In the event that schematics are not available then we can carry out a site visit to locate any fire dampers.

Fire Damper Testing

We will visually inspect, drop test and reset every accessible fire damper. We provide a comprehensive report giving detailled records for each fire damper including location, type, results along with photographic evidence. We will also document any recommended remedial works to ensure compliance.

Fire Damper Remedial Works

Following on from the Fire Damper Test we may recommend remedial works. This may be to gain access by installing access panels or builders hatches to allow for a drop test to be carried out. In the event a fire damper is found to be inoperable, we can discuss options of repairing or replacing the damper.
